We will end up at China Camp Point to explore the museum, the shore, and the sand, and have lunch at China Camp Point Picnic Area.
Please note: this is a shuttle hike, which means you will have to double back to return to our start point at Miwok Meadows or arrange for someone to drive you from the end point at China Camp Point. DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 101, exit at N. San Pedro Rd and head east for approximately 3 miles. You will see the Miwok Meadows sign on your right (this will be the third trailhead that you pass). Nature for Kids: Exploring Indian Valley
Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 10:00am-1:00pm
We will join up with amazing interpretive naturalists, David Herlocker and Shannon Burke from Marin County Parks, for a day of nature exploration and education. We’ll look for winter-active wildlife, including frogs, toads, and salamanders.
The creek should be full, so we will follow it up the canyon and have lunch by a beautiful waterfall. Remember to bring lunch. We request that no pets (except service animals) attend. Rain may cancel the event. In case of questionable weather, call (415) 893-9527 after 8am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if cancelled. DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 101, exit at Ignacio Blvd/Bel Marin Keys Blvd and head west on Ignacio Blvd for approximately 2.5 miles, all the way through campus. We will meet in Lot 6 (adjacent to the police station) in the College of Marin Indian Valley Campus, 1800 Ignacio Blvd, Novato.
